'Cheesing Nachos' #2 | Devtober


Hello. I have almost finished the shooting mechanic. Excited to share with you!


Shooting Cheese

So, I managed to make it so when I press a button, it appears on my right or left depending on what side I'm facing. Then I had to make it move. Instead of the bullet, I made the player move, so I had to put most of the code into the level and bullet scripts, leaving only movement code in the player script.
I found a tutorial, followed it, and tweaked it until I had what I wanted. I try not to follow tutorials, cause the code might not be compatible with mine, it doesn't really do what I want it to specifically, or I just think I can do it, but I just have to think really hard. I just made a new project and followed the tutorial in there. Sometimes, tutorials really can help. The one I watched made me realize how simple it was. If I did it in a specific way :P.
I also made it disappear when it collides with something. Now, I just have to put it into the game project, tweak it a bit, make the nacho sprites change when the bullet (I mean, cheese) collides with the nachos. I also have to make the cheese/bullet sprite.
